How to farm A.R.C. Faction Badges on Cyrene

First thing I was wondering when I come to Planet Cyrene was how to collect A.R.C. Faction Badges. I will try to make the Ultimate Guide to collecting A.R.C. Faction Badges on Planet Cyrene. There are daily and non-daily missions that reward you with A.R.C. Faction Badge. Let start with the daily quests.

1.Probably the easiest quest to get A.R.C. Faction Badge is (Get Sweaty!).
First you have to teleport to 0x101 Supply Depot Teleporter at 138444, 77215, 101 coordinates.

Then go to Andrina - Sweat Collections at 138512, 77280, 101, she is the A.R.C. Sweat Trader.

She will give you 1 A.R.C. Faction Badge if you give her 500 bottles of Vibrant Sweat. And this kind of put price on the A.R.C. Faction Badge. You can buy 500 Vibrant Sweat for 1 PED so you can get 1 A.R.C. Faction Badge for 1 PED. So you will need 200 PED or 20$ to get 200 1 A.R.C. Faction Badges.

Planet Cyrene Improved B.E. Armor Guide

Just found great guide how to get this cool armor when I get to Planet Cyrene.

You'll need to:
-Get the BP's for Cyrene Token
-Craft the B.E. Pilot Armor
-Gather materials for the upgrade recipe
-Add them the armor full TT to refiner with materials and refine

This is short! if you wonder how any steps are here it is

ABOUT THE B.E. Armor!....

You can aquire the 7x BP's for each part (Limited with 100 clicks) buy obtaining 750x Cyrene Daily Tokens @ 0x1 Depot Teleporter, close to the statues

This is a repeatable quest, after a week/few days, so the supply (currently) isn't running out at least.

So before you jump on the NPC without knowing how expensive each part is! Here it is

TT each part is 11.4 = 79.8 PED total

Harness
- 2x Weak Protein Strain
- 1x Synthetic Rubber

Arms
- 3x Weak Calcium Compound
- 2x Terrestrial Hormone
- 1x Low Grade Motherboard

Gloves
- 1x Fish oil
- 1x Synthetic Rubber
- 1x Weak Calcium Compound
- 1x Low Grade Motherboard

Shin
- 2x Outstanding Calcium Compound
- 1x Pure Choroid
- 2x Decent Magnesium Component

Helmet
- 3x Low Grade Metal Compound
- 1x Pure Choroid
- 1x Decent Protein Strain

Leg Guards
- 6x Medium Grade Motherboard
- 5x Component Grease

Feet
- 3x Lurker Lube
- 2x Decent Calcium Compound
- 1x Synthetic Rubber
- 1x Low Grade

So those are the Materials! Its a lvl 4 BP! So it requires lvl 7.5 and should be maxed at lvl 12.5 or so.

Some of the materials you might be wondering how to do or seems complicated the list right?

So here's a list of all simplified of the total materials (if you are 100% sucessfull which is hard, next to impossible for all the set), what it takes to get them and what mobs if its the case

#Materials
5xComponent Grease - 15x Diluted Body Oil - Merfolken
2xDecent Calcium Compound - 8x Bone - Sky Wraith / Tree Dragon
2xDecent Magnesium Component - 4x Protective Coating+4xCracked Shell- Tide Claw
1xDecent Protein Strain - 2x Bone-in Meat 7x Super Adhesive - Tide Claw
1xFish oil - 3x Shed Skreel Tail - Skreels
4xLow grade Metal Compounent - 8x Low Grade Scrap + 4x Zorn Star Ingot
2xLow grade Motherboard - 4x Low Grade Eletronic + 18x Super Adhesive
3xLurker Lube - 6x Swamplurker oil + 3x Hardening Agent - Swamp Lurker
6xMedium Grade Motherboard - 6x Medium Grade Eletronic + 6x Life Essence
2xOutstanding calcium compound - 2x Protective Coating + 2x Greater Claw
2xPure Choroid - 2x Kaisenite + 2x Partial Eye Remains
3xSynthetic Rubber (its a raw material) + Swamplurker
2xTerrestrial Hormone - 4x Terrestrial Gland + 8x Zorn Star Ingot - Rhino Beetle/MangChang
4xWeak Calcium Compound - 12x Lesser Claw - Tree Dragon
2xWeak Protein Strain - 6x Bone-in Meat + 2x Bonding Liquid

This is the Total list of materials needed and where you get them

I will make a clearer looking one (or if someone wants to make an image i will edit and add in future).

So now! You know all there is to know about how to craft! sounds a lot? its nothing but few PED worth TT + Clicks of the limited Blueprints.

This was quite public information or you'd get it with some work

But most are yet unware of the wanted Improved B.E.

So now for the Improved B.E.!...

The recipe was revealed not long ago

All you need to do is grab the refiner, drag the armor part fully repaired with materails

But I will list it once again! and if something is new, I will add how to get it

-1x Boffin Upgrade Part - Confirmed from Vlanwings, Rumored from Protocore
-2x Zorn Star Ingot
-1x Decent Magnesium Component (go up and check)
-3000 or 3k Sweat (gather it / buy it of a friendly noob!)
-2x Swamp Lurker Oil
-5x Imperium Cube (Component 1-5 crafted from Technician BPs, once you get all you all you refine them to create Imp Cube, and from those, together with Cyrene Daily tokens, you will Craft Imperium cubes)
-1x Fergunson's All Purpose Lube (Limited Blueprint, takes 3xOil Res/3xEye/4x Swamp Lurker Oil/10 Sweat each click)

Here is the List! a combined tt (if im not mistaken) of 5,73 ped, basicly double the regular B.E. TT! this is the list for EACH part, multiply by 7 and you know what you need for a full set!

SIB Charts Laser Pistol and Laser Sniper level 26 - 100

I was just thinking of switching to laser or BLP weapon from my mindforce chip, something that will give me more HP and today I see 2 nice charts making it easier to find what weapon I should by next. I am posting the here and will look at tm after work.

The first number must be the DPS (damage per second). The second number must be the DPP (damage per pec, more is better). And the last number must be the minimum level you have to be to be able to use that weapon.

How to get more PED:s for your money

My last post was about the items you can buy from the Entropia Universe Web Shop. For the people with gold card they must enter the code every time they want to see what is in the webshop so it is easier to see it posted. As you probably know when you deposit to Entropia Universe you get less than 100 PED for your 10 USD. Also on the webshop you can buy 95 PED for $10, 285 PED for $30 and 570 PED for $60. And you know 10 PED is $1 so obviously you lose money depositing directly into the game or buying PED:s from the webshop.

The solution to the problem is to buy Universal ammo pack. For $10 you can buy Small Universal Ammo Pack with 1000k Ammo that cost 100 PED and even get bonus 2 Autoloot Pills and 3 H-DNA. For $50 you can buy Medium Universal Ammo Pack with 5000k Ammo that cost 500 PED and even get bonus 10 Autoloot Pills and 20 H-DNA. For $100 you can buy Small Universal Ammo Pack with 10000k Ammo that cost 1000 PED and even get bonus 20 Autoloot Pills and 50 H-DNA.

One Autoloot Pill has value of 0,5 PED so for $10 you get 101 PED, for $50 you get 505 PED and for $100 you get 1010 PED.

When you buy Universal ammo pack you get more than 10 PED for $1. The only problem is that you must use that ammo to shoot mobs. You can’t directly sell it and buy CLD for example. So if you want to deposit $1000 to buy CLD you can’t use this method, it will take a lot of time to convert the ammo into PED:s. But if you deposit to play just buy Universal Ammo Pack and play more for the same money.

If you are a miner or a melee player you will have to wait because at the moment it is not possible to buy mining probes from the webshop or something you can use to kill with a melee weapon. But if MindArk don’t want everyone to become hunters I believe there will be such options sooner or later.

Why do you get more ammo in your loot

No, no one hates you in MindArk office. Well they may be hate you if you own island full of treasures on Planet Calypso, but this is not the reason for the ammo in your loot. The reason is a flag called "disable auto-generated loot" which can be placed on individual creatures where it makes sense. Setting the flag means that auto-generated items such as ESI's, Oils, Makeup, Paints etc won't drop on the creature, instead only ammo and specifically assigned loot items will drop.

The flag was placed on the puny creatures because it didn't make sense to spread out a few pecs here and there in various trash item stacks, it only makes the game seem more expensive than it is it TT values get spread out.

The flag was also placed on big shared loot monsters such as wave spawner bosses because players have been complaining for ages about one or two people getting high TT items and full ESI's while others getting no loot at all. These creatures can still drop combat tokens which now becomes a more common occurrence since the TT value can't be used to fill up big L items etc.

And no you can’t get PED in your loot. It was possible few years ago, but it was changes for some strange legal reasons.

How Warp Mines works in Entropia Universe

The actual functionality of "Warp Mines" is a little complex and to be honest, I am not sure if they work the way they are supposed to. I am not even sure if the "Pirates" are 100% aware of how they fully function.

"Warp Mines" are placed in a "Warp Gate" to disrrupt the "Warp Process" of a "Warp Capable Ship". Currently Aniara Class Motherships and Vega Class Privateeers (Pathfinders and Starfinders) are the only "Warp Capable Ships" in the "Entropia Universe". There is at least one "Warp Gate" in each "Server Area" of the current "Entropia Space" and there are twelve(12) such "Server Areas" This much we know for certain.

The "Captain Skill" of a "Ships Pilot" + the level of the "Ships Warp Drive" Vs the level of the "Warp Mine" being used = the chances of a "Ships Warp Process" being disrupted. I have no idea of What the full break down of the ratios for this equation is. The cost of obtaining "Warp Mines" and burning "Warp Drives" to fully test this is a little ludicrous because of the costs involved.

On Sunday the "MS Bismarcks Warp Sequence" was disrupted on two seperate ocassions in the "Erabos Space Server Region". On the first instance the "Pirate Ship MS Dreadnoguht" was the only Ship in the vicinity. It attacked and destroyed the "MS Bismarck"

On the second occassion there was not only the "MS Dreadnought" but the "MS Varyag" This second ship quickly disappeared behind us as we headed away from the situation with the "MS Dreadnought" in hot pursuit. It was accompanied by a well known Pirate in a Quadwing Interceptor.

A "Warp Trail" was then obseved. This could have been a number of things and at this stage is purely speculation. It may have been the MS Varyag attempting to "Warp" to an intercept point on the Bismarcks predicted tragectory. It may have been the MS Varyag leaving the area. It also may have been another "Watp Ship' passing through the region.

Once the MS Bismarcks Crew and Passengers were fully aware of the situation, the ships speed was reduced and the fight taken to the Pirates. After a short time of guns blazing from both MS and the attending Quadwing Interceptor the Bismarck arose from amongst the smouldering wreckage of the Dreadnought as the victors of the second bout. Shortly afterwards the Quadwing Interceptor was also dispatched.

As the "Pilot" on both ocassions, I take full responsibility for the Bismarck being destroyed in the first instance. Due to the lack of activity from the Pirates in the last few weeks I had become quite lacks and was "Piloting with Undue Care and Attention"

In the second instance the credit must go to the Crew. Their actions and efforts are nothing less than highly commendable. The Repair Crew worked tirelessly to ensure all stations maintained substantial integrity during the ensuing battle while the Gun Crew ensured the final victory.

The work, time and efforts put in by EFA Crew Members is nothing short of highly commendable. Not just on this occassion but at all times their efforts are greatly appreciated. In recent times our Crews have proven themselves very reliable and more than capable on both the Kronan and the Bismarck. We may not always be victorious but we hold our own.

THE HIVE - a Tutorial to Aurli uber bosses

I believe everyone should have access to this knowleadge, its been nearly a year this place was release and most who know how the spawn of aurli uber aka bosses works never shared it, kept it to themself and profiting from it (i joined the place mid november 13 and was able to figure out all this stuff by myself).
Several people mentionned me how bad they wanted to loot some bones and start a set of more eco plates together, I have helped some friends so far, I believe at some point everyone should get to share what they know, it always was on us to give and to receive, so here is my input.

Aurli Biogenic Gel.
This gel is made off all the brood parts you may loot in the hive, some aurli larva which can be found in the bell brood room, some alien liquids from other domes and an animal oil i let you find about.
Used in the craft of the adj/imp/mod bp.

Aurli Bosses have an internal cooldown.
Matter of fact i was able to determine this cooldown, they all work on a base of "timing" and not "kill count" as many could believe and feel robbed by the WSS mafia (or by myself?) out there camping each cave ready to catch the precious loot.
Each of these bosses can and will respawn 48hrs after last one killed up to 120hrs spawning limit, once this understood you might want to know when the last specific boss been killed to be able to catch the next one and hunt at the right place, timing pattern may vary depending on server reboot, server reboot now force a cooldown reset, which means no boss will spawn untill 48hrs atleast passed.

Bring with you the highest tiered gun you can, for some of the strongest boss a rutube/perseus armor will be needed, be prepared for the worst but still pray for the best, infact some people from the mentionned above soc will KS you at all cost, it happend to me before and mob train isnt an option for some of the less respectable of them or even auto firing the spawning point for several hours in a row or even all day.
This is not really about it but worth mentioning as all treasure comes at a cost so lets get to the real point of the thread.

6 different bosses, from L43 to L106, each spawning as an extra mob to the existing ones, each of these boss spawn INSIDE their brood cave, each of these are a nearly 100% guarantee to loot a bone or up to 3 bones with dread.
Bones are also lootable from regular mobs, confirmed on brood of bram, dotty and bell, also potentially from warren as the boss happend to give no loot.
NOTE: some have lower chances of looting and will be detailed under.

L43 Dotty

50% chances of looting a bone

L48 Bell (picture taken from the way to the bell cave)

50%+ chances of looting a bone
Spawns into PVP

L49 Bram

50%+ chances of looting a bone

L76 Warren

75%+ chances of looting a bone

L78 Unruly

100% chances of looting a bone

L106 Dread The AllBrood

100% chances of looting atleast a bone, up to 3 lootable
Spawns in PVP
Makes a loud Rooooaaaar noise on spawn that can be heard all around the hive.

NoTE: Chances of looting mentionned are based on 2-3 months of tracking, personal & friends kills.

Additional information will be provided in a following post (if you want to personally ask me something about the place i can teach & tell you for free, ingame).

Good luck to everyone inside the hive, may this allow to be revived, mob start to loot UL items again and return some of the mu to these mobs.

Planet Arkadia Underground Deed FAQ

Where is the Underground deed broker?

The underground deed broker is located in the underground land area on Arkadia close to the arrival Teleporter.(13479 21770)

How do I get to the underground?

You can travel to the underground using any Teleporter on Arkadia. On the top of the teleport map is a dropdown list showing your current location. Click on the dropdown list and select Arkadia Underground from the list and then select the underground Teleporter.

How do I buy Deeds from the broker?

In order to buy the Arkadia underground deeds you have to transfer the PEDs out of your PED card into your inventory before interacting with the broker.
When buying the deed from the broker a new window will open where the PED can be placed in to complete the transaction.

I clicked the broker and he has no deeds available, what do I do now?

The broker is being constantly resupplied with deeds in order to ensure a fair opportunity for multiple players to acquire a deed.

How do I deposit funds to my account?

Funds can be deposited using the EU Transfer Center. The EU transfer Center can be accessed using the dedicated button on the top of the HUD on default Keymaps. If your Keymap has been changed the EU Transfer Center can be accessed by right clicking on the ground or by accessing it from the Action Library (Default key "Y")

Currency Dilution - A Lesson In Economics

Here is a nice read from Homo Spacien who provide FREE PAINTING AND TEXTURING SERVICE:

A Lesson In Economics

For all intents and purposes, this is an economy that has activity equal to a small city in real life, There’s nothing ‘virtual’ about this world. Although it is no Eve Online with 400,000 members in our active economy system. It still suffers the same economic troubles of a real world economy, Inflation, deflation and even recessions can occur. Having a strong background in economics i find EU very interesting as it allows me to study concepts that rarely occur in real life. What troubles me is that being one of only a few MMO's that offer a real cash economy, MA has not hired an economist to their staff to balance our current problems out. Seeing as others like CCP, Valve, and a few more who do not even use a RCE model have done so.

Over the past few months i have run a very comprehensive study on the EU economy covering things such as currency dilution, labor markets, investor returns, arbitrage, equilibrium and participation. With a ton of data collected, analyzed, re-analyzed, and concluded i have found the following using basic economic principals. Please be fore warned, this is going to be a lengthy read if you chose to continue beyond this point. I will do my best to write this article in non-technical terms so everyone can grasp the concepts and failures.

Section 1: Currency Dilution

Definition: A reduction in the ownership percentage of a share of an item caused by the issuance of new like items.

Scenario:

Suppose MA has issued 5 of a particular item into the virtual world, for this instance we will use the UL CalyTrek BLP rifle from this point forward just referred to as “CalyTrek”. For the basis of this dilution model we will say that each CalyTrek has a value of 20,000 ped. With that we can say that the item, the CalyTrek’s hold an economic value of 100,000 ped. Now let’s assume that MA has a second issuance of CalyTrek’s in which 5 more of them are released into the economy. The increase in supply drops the demand, which lowers the items value. Now your base value of a CalyTrek is only 16,000 ped. It is true that there is now 160,000 ped of the asset in game after the issuance of 5 more of the CalyTrek and after the first sale of each of them MA has earned 160,000 ped into the economy, but on the flip side of that, these items will be sold several times and again diluted. So let’s get to the math. The original 5 owners of the first issued CalyTreks each lose 4,000 ped when they sell their item, so in theory MA just made 20,000 ped and 5 people just got a heck of a deal on a rifle. But now lets consider the effect. The sale of UL weapons and their value is based on the following data points. DPS, Economy, Range, and Tier. For this example we will use a number system, 1,2,3, & 4, 1 being the best gun, and 4 being the worst. The dilution of the value of gun 1 decreases the worth of 2,3,&4, meaning each time the item is bought and sold the amount needed to conduct that transaction is less, the amount of ped needing to be deposited is less, and MA’s returns decrease as a result of currency dilution. Yes they made ped off the initial dilution, but through residual sale of the item, the margin is down. Having a few dozen UL BLP rifles to choose from and all directly corresponding to their DPS, Economy, Range and Tier, by adding only 5 of one particular item to the economy for a quick profit you have essentially removed likely over 1,000,000 ped from the marketplace and can only hope to make it up with frequent use and decay.

The Solution:

Arbitrage, I know I said I wouldn’t use technical terms but there is no other word for it, so please google it if you do not know what it means.

The practice of Arbitrage results 100% of the time in Rational Pricing in the end game. Arbitrage is a fluid state in which can truly only exist for a period in time. At some point between buying low and selling high a rational price is reached, we will use the Herman ARK TT-R as an example. There is an unlimited supply of them in the Entropia Universe. Anybody who travels to Planet Arkadia can pick one up at the same fixed price which is lower than what they are selling for on Planet Calypso, even still the rational price for this item is around 4.5 – 5 ped. Every time a new one is generated from the trade terminal MA makes an additional 2 to 2.5 ped. Its been that way and stable for quite some time now. Granted this is minute amounts of ped, but the same principal applies on higher value items. Lets impose this scenario on the above mentioned CalyTrek, using this model which Eve Online already employs. Make a Blueprint for the CalyTrek, it requires X amount of whatever materials, these materials have X value, in gathering these materials, whether it is hunting for them, mining for them, or walking around trying to find them there is cost incurred, decay, ammo, probes, the chance of success, all stable factors. It does not matter if 1,000 of the item were crafted the bottom line is at some point you are going to reach a rational price somewhere above what it costs to make them, just like the (L) items in the game. With that you sustain stable profit in the use of time/decay/ammo/probes to manufacture this item, and you never have to worry about a diluted currency in game and losing your tail on vanishing in game funds.

The Lesson:

When you create a static item with a set availability, each time you add to the item quantity you dilute its value as well as the value of dozens of other things in relation to the item type, by setting a living economy principal of arbitrage leading to the establishment of rational pricing, your economy becomes stable, residual, and predictable. Even if some tool starts manufacturing them and selling them at a loss, as the platform owner ( MA ) you make some ped of his stupidity and when he goes broke the market re- establishes a rational price.

Damage, Speed and Range of MindForce Chips

Great guide from Nighthawk:

Which profession is required for which chip:
Electro Kinetic = Electric and Kinetic
Cryogenic = Cryogenic and Lacerating
Pyro Kinetic = Combustive and Corrosive

What this shows:
The differences in balance between damage, attack speed and range for the six different types of Mindforce combat chips.

Stats taken from Attack Nanochip IV (L)s. However, the balance between those stats remain largely intact for all levels of (L) Nanochips.

Reason:
To clearly present the difference between different combat chip types for people trying to get into the Mindforce profession.

For example; Combustive chip is slow but has high damage and range, while a Corrosive chip is fast but has low damage and range.

D = Damage (per hit).
S = Speed (uses per minute).
R = Range (in meters).

Each gauge goes from 0 to 100.

I hope this may save any mentor or newbie helper some time from explaining the difference to their disciples, as well as assist new players trying to find information about this (please also tell me if there is some info that should be added/altered to further clarify).

TRADERS! A misconception!

There has been an issue that has been bothering me since i signed up here at entropia and i must say more specificly arkadia and thought it needed discusing....

As a trader myself im growing a little tired of the bad name traders get here at Entropia for a number of reasons, but the main reason is that this misconception of the trader is slowing down the economy especialy here on arkadia and this misunderstand is spreading like wild fire right now, there isnt a session now that i dont see someone talking complete trash about traders and how they are ripping people off, so basicly im here to open a discussion on this subject and hopefully change the way that traders are looked upon.....

The Root of the problem IMO starts with the fact we are dealing with a real money economy here in EU, this strait away instills a sence of "That guy just robbed me of x amount of cents".... so let me clear this up right now with the fact that 999999999.99% of EU avatars WILL LOOSE in EU, it has to work this way for EU to exist and fund the development of EU.

Everyday day we all log in all the miner's and hunters except that you can drop X amout of ped and the loose on the return thats just life here and has to be exepted by the population, Those that dont exept this play for a while and leave bitching, so we will just assume that we all except this fact ...

The Second thing is UNDERSTANDING MU!!!!, this is the part that really chaps my ass, the number of people i see in this game that 1. go on DAILY MU .. 2. think that they should/can get that value for there items. so let me explain in the hope we can clear this up....

1. DAILY MU

This isnt a very precise way to look at the MU value on most items, simply because the stats for the D/MU could be pulled from 1 person buying the item at higher OR lower than the average MU, this is more-so on items that are not sold in the 1000s, its just like a football players stats.... if player 1.. has played 2 games and scored once his score % is 50% does that make him better or worse than player 2... who has played 100 games and scored 48 times??? the answer is neither!!!! because there simply isnt enough data on the first player to get a clear picture, player 1.. could go on to be a superstar and have a scrore % of 98% or he could be the biggest donkey to hit the field 50 years WE JUST DONT KNOW!! because the data isnt there.. and the same applies here...

Its mutch better to look at the weekly as there is a lot more data there to give a clear picture, if the daily MU has lots of data 9x outa 10 you will notice its pretty much the same as the weekly give a nats fart here and there, so please dont always go by the D/MU its just not detailed enough and its only YOU that will loose out on it so do yourself a favour and use weekly MU stats to get a better picture of the market value....

2.Whats it Really worth?

This is where it gets interesting, please bear in mind that we are talking stackables here, singular items run at a slightly different basis, so we are taliking your lootable stackables ores/skins EnMatters that kinda stuff...

99999.99% of the data that you get from MU is that item sold in BULK quantities, meaning that people are paying at auction around this figure... so when you come back of your mining trip and you have 30 kaz please dont think that its worth top MU or if anyone offers to buy it from you that you can expect that %, this is where people need to really understand the idea of the complex economy here in EU....

The MU of any stackable is after auction fees witch are added to the sellers price most of the time and as i say 999999.99% in bulk (in 1000s)... now your 30 kaz is not worth the MU shown IN THOSE QUANTITIES.... the only way your going to get anywere near that is if your lucky enough to know a crafter who will keep meeting with you and buying your 30 kaz and other loot but even he wont want to pay top MU as he can just go to auction and buy in the quantites he needs (we are talking thousands here) at possibly a better MU its just not worth the hassle keep mucking around buying your bits at FULL MU.... he may as well go to auction buy what he needs or put up an order, as he isnt always crafting with the same mats, so unless he has ped to burn your out of luck.... now im not saying these relationships dont exist because they do but there very VERY rare and its not simply walk up to him and sell your loot at full MU...

Now im not saying you cannot get your top wack MU, but if you do want that % or anywhere close to it then you better invest some ped so you can fund your hunting/mining runs and build on those stacks untill you get a decent stack size (500 min *refined) and put it through auction yourself footing the auction fees and sale price % at auction, its a prety simple concept...

But all is not lost you can list your 30 kaz on auction AS IS!!! thats right folks and ive get even better news its normaly runs at at a mutch higher % in smaller numbers grate huh? well not when you talking about selling a couple of ped worth of stackables and your have a 0.5 ped charge for listing it AND the chances of you selling that small amount is a LOT lower than selling it in large quantities at the going MU, this is for the same reason your very lucky to find a crafter to buy your bits on the street..... why would he buy lots of small amounts at a hiked MU??? there are only very few circumstances this will happen I.E hes just finishing off a run of a given BP and needs justa small amount of a given mat.... thats it! no other reason... so by all means list your small amounts of loot and sit there for a week with no mining/hunting because your waiting for ll that juicy ped to come in from top MU only to find out you havent sold a bean but you got a nice 0.5 ped auction charge....

THE TRADER (THE EVIL ONE!!!)

Yes the trader.... the Theif... the rip off merchent.... the guy who laughs in your face while he STEALS your hard earned ped...

first of all we need to place the trader... where does he sit in the economy?

Miners/Hunters
|
|
Traders
|
|
Crafters/Tailers

Again if you are able to fund your hunting/mining and are in a possition to accumalate large stacks then auction it off your self or find a crafter and sell directly to him, IM TELLING YOU this is the best way and im a trader! you will make more ped but depending on the terms of the relationship you may still be stuck with other types of loot as it depends what mats the crafter is looking to buy... if you get a crafter who is willing to buy ALL at a couple of % bellow MU you look after him lke your own child! as buisness relationships like this are very hard to come by, But for most of us here in EU we need to turn our ped around quickly and do what you come to EU to do, mining/hunting what ever... so lets recap on our options

1. deposit a decent lump of RL cash into EU to fund about a weeks worth of mining/hunting and sell your loot at auction at the full MU (and be prepared to wait a few days for it to sell also)

2. List your small stacks on auction, wait several days and hope they sell @ hiked MU or your left with a 0.5 ped auction charge for non sale...

3. list your small stacks on auction at averge MU and loose out bigtime with auction fees (0.5 ped is a lot out of 4 ped worth of mat)

4. Find a crafter who will buy all you loot (buying only given items is no good a few ped here and there wont fund your next mining trip...

5. Sell it to the trade terminal

6. OMG Sell to a trader (cue evil music).....

So why a trader?

1. A trader will give you a % of the MU on your loot...
2. he will buy ALL your loot not just what he needs
3. No waiting about you drop your loot cycle your peds and your off mining/hunting again

Now this is where people get all hot and bothered...... "this item is worth this % and your offering me this %" well read above again and go get your top MU i have NOOOOOOOOOOO problem with that infact i even advise it, but if your not willing to any of the above please stop bitching that traders are ripping you off...

people need to understand that MOST traders provide a service. they are NOT i repeat NOT!!! just cheaky ass avatars who want to rip you a new one so they dont have to pay the going MU....

So given our options above selling to a trader is by far the best option... but people just carnt get there heads around selling there stuff to another human for less than the % they see in the window, and some would rather TT there stuff than sell it to a trader... all this does is HIKE prices and hold back the economy, its called cutting of your own nose to spite your face... its stupid... your costing yourself ped by loosing at the TT and costing yourself further down the economical road by hiking prices.... its moronic!....

people are under this anal idea that a TRADER... look at the name here "TRADER" should buy in at MU .... what planet are some of you off? but thats just the one side of our trade... what about selling our large stacks of stuff?...

well by the time we have refined the stacks and put it though auction with auction fees and auction fees on sale price the profit isnt really anything to run around screaming about trust me... but then we can always sell to crafters or street sales right? correct... but let me tell you a little story that puts ALLLLLLL this into percpective.....

the other day a guy came up to me asking if i had a specifc ingots to sell.... now these ingots i had ear marked for another customer who buys specific ingots from me once a week, but knowing i had a few days grace before he would be contacting me i thought i would sell these on now, knowing i could replace them for my regular customer... so i went in with my price which was slightly under the MU.... and do you know what the guy said????? your going to like this....

"But thats MU/Auction Price, normally when i deal with traders they are a few % under MU"

Now i actualy agree with the guy.. i just went in high as i had the ingots ear marked and for me to sell em now i wanted a better price, but yea i agree with him.... so why in gods name does everyone want me or all traders to BUY @ MU but sell UNDER MU......after refining the damn stuff ?!?!?!?!?!?!

so what you are all saying is what a trader should be is this.......

1.depo large amounts of cash....
2.buy your bits and bobs @ DAILY MU ..... ohh and a tip ofcorse
3.refine it
4.stockpile this stuff for weeks
5.sell it BELLOW MU

im sorry but this is moronic... and im growing somewhat tired of traders being looked upon as thieves basicly......

i agree there are some traders out there who offer silly % or just go for the highly valuable stackables.... well let me give you a few tips....

if ANYONE is asking for a specific item its worth more.... end of story...

say trader 1. will buy all your goods but trader 2 is only after a few of those goods you need to be asking a higher price from trader 2... as he's only after specified items.. a REAL trader will buy everything within his area of trade.... I.E mining loot/hunting loot... its only common sence......

the other thing is if a trader offers you silly % say 105% on a 150% item then you know what? dont trade with him lol its quite simple... traders make there living off reputation, traders with a reputation of of that kind wont be trading for long because everyone will just go somewhere else.... just because there is a trader there doesnt mean you MUST trade with him... its a choice! take it ot leave it, if your getting ripped off there is only one person to blame....... YOU!!!...

at the end of the day. traders are a VITAL part of the economy and drives prices down within the economy.... being a hard faced idiot who simply refuses to sell there items at bellow MU because they dont understand how MU works and what the real worth of somthing is destroy the economy and hold back the game and more importantly ARKADIA ATM witch is by far the best planet IMO....

so please people.... please.... understand that traders are not cheaky little so and so's who want to rip you off we do provide and service and a vital one at that.... without us crafters cannot do there thing at a affordable price and no crafters means your loot is worth NOTHING BUT TT VALUE.....

its up to you folks....

Skilling On A Mothership

Spent alot of time skilling on Motherships(MS), like to help people to do the same. Roughly, one gets over 60 ped in skills from each used Rk. I would require it of any disciple, and recommend it for any crafter. Here is the basic info anyone who wants to begin getting skill on a Mothership needs.

YOU NEED TO HAVE SPACE DOWNLOADED!!!!
open ur map, at the top it says Calypso, open this by pressing the arrow to the right. If you do not see SPACE with a green check, you do not have it yet. Get it!

Do not go into space with anything in your MINED or MATERIALS tab. Press the COMPACT button on the bottom right next to the hand to make sure nothing is "hiding" in these tabs.

To get on the Mothership, get added to the guestlist. You need to find someone who knows someone that can add you, just listen for the word WARP, and sure bet, they can get you on a repair crew. Some MS's are free to repair, some you have to buy acess. Once added, you can be summoned straight to the ship, or fly up to the Space Station(SS) and board at the TP. If you fly up, piracy is not a concern, because you go directly from the planet to the parking area around the space station, it is not lootable.

Once there, you can pay if it is a service, or make a donation if it is free. You will be asked, but even if you are not, offer. You will see bars on the screen representing the repair points and their health levels. Smaller ships have two facing points, the Propulsion(PP) and Reactor(RR). Large ships also have a Command Center(CC) and Hanger(HH). On a MS, you can repair when it is not broken. This is called 0.0 repair. You MUST ask before you do, and wait for an answer. If you repair the wrong thing at the wrong time, you will break the 0.0 and no one will be able to skill. This is very important! Look to where others are skilling, and repair there. Not too close now, if you go afk on the wrong point, leave space so another avatar can get bodily between you and the repair point, and block you. Stop repairing if asked to stop.

The mother ship is most likely not yours. Pay your way if you can, dont mess things up, and overall, Be Cool To Each Other! We are a very helpful and close group in general, with a few pita's thrown in for balance, so skill up and be very grateful! I am writing this because I am very grateful, and I want YOU to have the same great expierience.

If you check back in and you stopped repairing, it could be a few things. Someone repaired the wrong repair point and shut 0.0 down, you crossed a server border, your rk broke, you are out of wire, or you warped. Dont worry. Check your rk and for wire, and if they are fine, ask what to repair. The ship has a channel for talking it is called force chat, use that for all in ship communications. Hint:If you want to chat to other players while you repair, turn off the white(other messages) and green(skill messages) channels so the repair and skill messages dont clutter up your chat.

One RK-5 Vehicle Repair Tool uses 51k Welding Wire in about 3.5 hours. A rk should be about 11 ped and Welding Wire about 190%, buying in bulk or being lucky and persistant on auction or with other players trading can bring this cost down. Some players and ships offer them on ship.

Look cool and unique – Trading lesson 1

If you want to be a trader in Entropia Universe or actually if you want people to remember your avatar the most important thing is the outfit. Usually traders and most of the uber players buy fancy and very expensive clothes. So I was thinking how to make my avatar more unique and I bought the most unique armor in Entropia Universe at the moment (In My Honest Opinion) – Turrelion Armor. It is designed by Planet Cyrene, doesn’t offer much protection but looks very cool and is cheap. TT price is just 15,40 PED for the set and with MU I bought it for like 100 PED may be even less. Also it is important to have something unique in your hand so I bought nice looking axe (my avatar name is AxeMurderer) from Rocktropia for 100% MU and I am ready to go to Twin Peaks and start buying resources. And since the last update from yesterday and VU 14 there is no more tax when you switch armor, but there is still tax when you switch clothes. This is how I am looking in this Turrelion armor with Infernal Trident in my hand before the avatar update and VU 14:

VU 14 also comes with better avatars and free change of the avatar look for everyone. And because of some bugs next week we will have another free change of how avatars look. So I will have the chance to make my avatar more unique and when they introduce the scars and tattoos may be even place some of those on my avatar’s face. And this is how I look after VU 14 and you can also see some other traders in Twin Peaks behind me.

Next step is to think of what price should I offer for different resources. But this you can read in my next Trading log.

Player's Notes vol 1 part 2 - Hunting Loot Mechanics

It seems fairly certain now that the min/max loots and the 3.5x multiplier are in play.

Many posts here are right that there could be more factors behind the scene at work (and i imagine there is as well), but in the end, all we see is the min/max range and so that's all that really matters for us (the players), and all that we need to work with..

Also, I intended this post (a bit) to be somewhat addressed to Mindark as well as the players, in an effort to give some feedback to what we see and experience from our end.. I originally had posted this thread in the Dev's corner but was moved by the Mods.. It wasn't only about how we experience the system but also tried to highlight some possible problem areas in returns (missing multipliers) as well as the overall psychological experience of the hunt in general ( min/max loots, almost all losing loots, being over 90% of what we loot)

So, assuming that we do indeed have these min/max and multiplier barriers, what can that tell us?

Well I had some thoughts:

Is the Min/Max range a constant?

Using the min/max ranges we might be able to test a few things..

Weapon types and loot returns - Do all weapon types (laser, blp. mf, melee, rockets etc.) all produce identical min/max values?

In other words, Do I, as a laser handgun user have the same min/max loot values as a mf user? or a rocket user?

This could be interesting to verify...

A friend of mine reported to me (after these notes) that he had been hunting argo young and that the highest loot in min/max range he received was 1.24 peds.. this seemed a tad high to me, but here's the catch: He is a MF hunter,, so the next question is: Can anyone else, using laser/blp etc also record a 1.24 ped loot on argo young? or are the more eco weapon types have a slightly lower max range?

this could be very easy to test..

Does the amount of HP a mob regens affect the min/max range?

Much harder to test, but still possible using the min/max values, would be the element of regen.. if a mob was allowed to regen, would it still only produce min/max value loots or would it possibly shift higher (to compensate for regeneration)

To note, I personally have never been a big believer of either of these theories, but never discounted their possibility of existing either.. the min/max range loots could offer us a good standard to test these things against..

It still seems very certain that 1.5x - 3.5x multipliers do not exist in hunting..

But the min/max values i believe deserve a closer look now because they might have the ability to help us test some things..

Managing Land Area

First you will need roughly 100k-200kPED to buy a Land Area. That's 10k-20kUSD.

Then you need to take a look at the land, see what it has, decide what it needs, figure out how you should set it up, and decide if you have enough PEDs to do so. (Should have done this before you bought the LA actually, but you know that. )

Things to look at when deciding what the LA needs is: 1) Size, shape, and overall configuration of the land itself. 2) Whether or not it has any built in terminals such as a Trade Terminal, Repair Terminal, etc. on the land. 3) See if you can buy the Shed that goes with it and if not then who owns it. You could use the shed as a shop to sell supplies to those who come to your LA and etc. 4) If it has a teleporter and if not then how close the nearest teleporter is. How easy it is to get to your LA will have an effect in determining how popular it is and how many people will come to it on a daily basis. 5) If the LA has a special name and whether or not you want to keep it the name it is on the map or on the TP or change it to something else.

If it does not have some of these things and if you want it to have some of these things then you will need the PED to make them happen.

After that you need to decide whether or not you want the LA to be a hunting, mining, or combination LA. You can decide this by taking a sweep of the land with a mining tool and figuring out what ores and enmatters are found on it. Depending upon the value of these ores and enmatters you may want to focus on less hunting, more hunting, or no hunting.

If you want the LA to be a mining LA then you don't need to worry about having animals on your land. Just set the land to no animals and let the land lay open.

If you want it to be a hunting LA then you will need to aquire some animal DNA. At this point you need to decide what creatures you want to spawn on your land, what maturities they are, and what density they spawn. This an all be decided on based upon the need for a specific creature and what maturities/densities work best when hunting them. You will also then need to buy and put fertilizer into the fertilization station on the LA. Fertilizer is the fuel used to spawn mobs on the land. It is created by combining common dung and growth molecules. You'll need to make sure the station is stocked or new mobs won't spawn.

If you want the LA to be a combinatin LA then you need to decide what creatures would work best for hunting on your LA, but creatures/maturities/and densities that are easy enough to manuever around for miners so that they don't die all the time. This can be a trial and error process during which you may need to test out the conditions yourself and get feedback from other players who spend time on your LA.

After you do all of this; you then need to advertise, promote, and set up events for your LA. Interesting, fun, and potentially profitable events with good prizes will bring in players and increase the popularity of your LA as more and more people get to know about it.

Then you just need to keep up maintenance on your LA and decide what mining/hunting taxes to set.
