Preparing for a New Marketing Push
Considerable changes were made to ComPet at the end of summer, including a revamped tutorial and beginner experience as well as the implementation of the Trinket system. Recent updates have been more modest, with resources instead being channeled into building the critical infrastructure and systems needed to support upcoming marketing efforts.

The new beginner experience now allows new players to dive right into ComPet’s competitive PvP experience. Our aim is to combine this more streamlined and PvP-focused introduction with a paid marketing campaign that showcases the PvP aspect of the game.

Tutorial Tweaks
Recent tutorial amendments have been analyzed, and an even more finely-tuned tutorial will be released shortly. These improvements are specifically designed to increase retention and engagement of new players acquired through the coming paid marketing campaign.

App Store Optimization
New descriptions, icons, images and video that are more in line with the competitive PvP marketing profile are being added to the app stores.

A lot Going on Behind-the-Scenes
Development of new content and game features will be of lower priority as we are currently working hard behind-the-scenes to lay the groundwork necessary to facilitate the upcoming marketing efforts.

Trinket and Strongboxes release

We are at the final stages of polishing the Strongbox and Trinket systems before release. The systems have been delayed slightly due to the vast impact we believe they will have on the game, and our desire for them to be balanced, bug-free and enjoyable on launch.

The upcoming release will feature four different Strongboxes. Three of them can be earned by completing Daily Missions in the Arena and one Strongbox which will be available for purchase in the shop. We will then study what effect these systems have on the game and listen to your feedback before we add two more premium Strongboxes at a later stage.

Tutorial and new player experience changes

We have put a lot of effort into making the tutorial and new player experience as smooth as possible. There are no more drawn out dialogues and new players are no longer forced to do things in any specific order. While there is a path we want new players to take, they are now free to explore different areas of ComPet before moving on to the next part of the tutorial. The new tutorial will also put more focus on the Arena. We believe these changes will greatly increase new players’ enjoyment of ComPet.

Another integral part in the new player experience is the introduction of New Player Tasks. These will reward new players for trying out and learning about different elements of the game, without forcing them through a linear, deterministic tutorial.

Marketing

With the changes we have made to the new player experience and with the addition of the Strongbox system, we believe that retention and monetization can increase significantly. Marketing of ComPet will therefore resume shortly after the upcoming release. Our new marketing campaigns will be in line with the design changes we’ve made to the game, which means they will focus more ComPet’s competitive PvP Arena experience.

Streams on Twitch.tv

We are currently exploring different marketing methods in order to select optimal channels and reach ComPet’s audience. One of these new channels is Twitch broadcasts by professional gamers and streamers.

Four streamers will play ComPet on Twitch:

J4CKIECHAN (https://www.twitch.tv/j4ckiechan)
AnnieFuchsia (https://www.twitch.tv/anniefuchsia)
Shadybunny (https://www.twitch.tv/shadybunny)
Pojkeen (https://www.twitch.tv/pojkeen)

Be sure to give them a follow to know when they will stream!

Ranking system changes

A completely new ranking system for the Premium division will be implemented in mid-May.

The current ranking system is reported to be unfair to high ranking players. The amount of ranking points awarded for a win in the Premium division seem to be disproportionate to the punishment for a loss. This makes it likely that high ranking players stop playing at a certain rank rather than risk losing an undue amount of points. This is the opposite of what we want. Players should be rewarded for staying active in the Arena, battling a lot, and defeating high level pets. The new ranking system will ensure this.

Remember to try out the new ranking system!

Focusing on Arena - continued

We will continue introducing changes to the user interface (UI) which are aimed to increase activity in the Arena. An upcoming change is a “welcome pop-up”, which will help and encourage players to subscribe to the Arena directly after starting a new session in ComPet.

This change will result in an overall reduction in time spent waiting for an opponent in the Arena.

Trinkets - continued

The trinket system has been finalized and will be implemented as soon as possible. The trinket system introduces a significant monetization opportunity that aligns well with our increasingly Arena-focused game design and marketing. Trinkets will be a main selling point for the Strongboxes that will be introduced in the in-game shop. Players will also be able to upgrade and customize trinkets as they progress, enabling them to set their pets apart from the competition and get an edge, which will also present further possibilities to monetize the trinket system.

Further details will be released in-game, on competgame.com and on the official forums as the trinket system rolls out.

Further clarification regarding ComPet release schedule

Further clarification regarding ComPet release schedule

We understand that the recent news about delayed Compet Deed payouts was unexpected and that this may have caused a certain amount of inconvenience.

We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused, but we assure Deed Holders that the prioritization of the development of core gameplay systems over non-gameplay systems was considered necessary for the fully-rounded development of ComPet as a competitive and well-crafted product. We are currently working hard to develop these systems so that ComPet Deed Holders may receive payouts as soon as possible. We also want to clarify that the deed revenues are being accumulated and have done so since the launch of the game.

We also appreciate that ComPet Deed Holders wish to receive timely and relevant information regarding ComPet development. Newsletters will therefore be sent on a regular basis to Compet Deed Holders to ensure that you are kept informed of future developments.

Best regards,
Klas Moreau

ComPet Release Schedule and Prioritisation

ComPet Release Schedule and Prioritisation

Cross-platform Trading
A major part of ComPet concept is the “cross-platform” trading aspect that makes ComPet so unique. This feature is currently in development both in Entropia Universe and ComPet. Until this feature has been fully implemented, it is not economically practical to engage in our planned full- scale marketing campaign to promote ComPet.

iOS Release
Release of ComPet on iOS is in its final phase and should be available shortly.

Affiliate/Referral System
Together with the upcoming marketing campaign, an affiliate/referral system will be available for ComPet account holders to promote ComPet themselves. This is another important stage to complete in order to maximise the impact of ComPet marketing.

Language Support
It is essential for us to add additional language support for our worldwide users.

eSports and Tournaments
Tournament and eSports functionality is currently in development which should widen the audience and appeal of ComPet.

Additional Development
Here are some additional key development tasks that must be implemented in order to create an exciting worldwide battle app game with cross-platform trading connected to the Entropia Universe real-cash economy:

General conversion and retention optimization
Daily tasks/missions
Discounts and offers
Strongboxes
Trinkets/buff items
Balance fine tuning

ComPet Revenue System
The revenue payment system will be implemented after the most important of the tasks detailed above have been completed and their associated processes are working correctly. Deed revenues are currently being accumulated and payments will begin once ComPet is fully functional.

Entropia Universe and ComPet Pet Trading

Entropia Universe and ComPet Pet Trading

We are pleased to announce that the revolutionary new system enabling Entropia Universe players to supply pets to ComPet players in return for PED will be available soon.

The first tradeable cross-platform pets will be ‘level-up pets’: pets that can only be used for levelling up existing pets in ComPet. ComPet players will be able to level up their pets faster using this method, so this will create a market for trained ‘level-up pets’ within Entropia Universe.

The ability to transfer ‘regular pets’ from (and to) ComPet will be introduced in future releases.

MA / Compet teams statement regarding trumpetta videos

MA / Compet teams statement regarding trumpetta videos

Statement regarding the Trumpetta videos.

Due to the controversy that surfaced regarding MindArk´s decision to produce and publish the Trumpetta videos we think that it is important to share our thoughts on the matter with the community.

Our decision to publish the videos was motivated solely by our ambition to make ComPet a success. For that to happen we need a large amount of players, many more than are playing Entropia. While we have a fairly significant advertising budget for traditional marketing we also make use of so called guerrilla marketing. That is when we do something spectacular that has the potential to go viral and be very cost effective.

The current election season in the United States dominates news coverage at the moment which is why we thought it would be a good idea to do something that could garner attention from main stream media. Several ideas were discussed but ultimately it was decided that we would introduce this new pet and make a series of videos about it.

Our goal was to have the videos be entertaining political satire with the hope that even supporters of Trump would find them amusing. It is clear that some people took offense and we would like to take this opportunity to apologize to you. It is clear that we could have handled this better.

We are a Swedish company and we would not presume to lecture citizens of other countries on political matters. Nor would we like it if others did it to us.

With that said there will be a few more videos up until the election is over. It is too late to change the format of the campaign and it has been very successful and cost-effective in bringing in new players. In the long run this will benefit all of us including deed owners, investors and players.

Best Regards,

Team ComPet

ComPet: Development Update

ComPet: Development Update

The ComPet Closed Beta period began on May 17, 2016 and has provided the ComPet development team with a wealth of valuable testing data and user feedback. This has resulted in significant improvements to the overall stability, balance and enjoyability of the ComPet experience. We are grateful to all the Closed Beta participants who have assisted our team in this effort.

ComPet is scheduled to transition to Extended Open Beta phase within a matter of weeks, with an eye toward further design and balance refinements, scalability testing and polishing in preparation for full release. This phase will:

-Be open to the general public.

-Enable players to retrieve their progress (i.e., the system will no longer be wiped).

-Allow transactions in the ComPet Shop.

Finally, a quick note about ComPet development. The product development and marketing budgets for ComPet were fully financed via ComPet deeds. Nearly all of the coding of the ComPet infrastructure and client was outsourced, meaning that MindArk’s developers have continued to focus on improving Entropia Universe. In fact, the Entropia Universe and Calypso teams have grown since the ComPet project began.

#10 The ComPet Shop: Pets

ComPet: Behind The Game

#10 The ComPet Shop: Pets

A selection of pets can be acquired from the ComPet Shop in exchange for Gold. It’s also possible to acquire multiple pets of the same animal.

But how do you choose a pet?

Pets belong to different classes: Aggressive, Defensive, Attuned and Balanced.

Most importantly, the class determines how a pet levels up.

When a pet levels up you distribute experience points to increase your pet’s attribute levels of Health, Mojo, Ferocity and Endurance (see #5 Battle Post for more on attributes).

Depending on what class your pet belongs to, each experience point increases your pet’s attribute levels by varying amounts. For instance, 1 experience point will increase a Defensive pet’s Health by 3 and an Aggressive pet’s Health by 2. This effectively means that different classes of pet have different ‘strengths’ and ‘weaknesses’.

Below is starting attribute level and the ‘increase per experience point’ for each pet in the ComPet Shop (‘increase per experience point’ is shown in brackets).

Aggressive:

Health: 20 (2)
Mojo: 30 (1.5)
Ferocity: 15 (3.5)

ComPet #6 Edgehog Backstory

ComPet: Behind The Game

#6 Edgehog Backstory

The Edgehogs in Posherton didn’t originate there. They were bred from the creatures known as Eudorian Devils that live on Planet Calypso.

Long ago an eccentric Poshertonite called Lord Danville resolved to obtain a pair of Eudorian Devils and use them as servants. He thought it would look ‘exotic’.

But when he arrived on Planet Calypso he discovered his task was not an easy one. Whenever he drew near the creatures had the audacity to breathe fire at him and singe his well-groomed moustache!

Many attempts and countless moustache treatments later he finally caught the little blighters by using a fire-proof cage.

Now all that remained was to train them in the Art of Good Service.

His efforts in this area met with little success.

Instead of pouring the wine they drank it. Instead of serving the tea they smashed the teacups and ravaged the scones. Instead of waiting at table, they ate the table. It was exasperating.

As if matters couldn’t get any worse the Devils escaped to the forest where they caused a wildfire!

Lord Danville now faced disaster! His reputation was in tatters and he was wanted for wildlife smuggling (he hated doing paperwork and hadn’t bothered to fill in the necessary forms).

But Danville had a plan. He made a giant pile of hay, rare china, exquisite wines and delicious delicacies in a clearing in the forest and waited. Since the Devils so enjoyed burning, breaking and consuming they couldn’t resist. They rushed the pile , whooping with joy as Danville sprang the trap and caught them.

Having averted total disaster the problem of taming the rascals remained. Luckily, Danville had glimpsed the true nature of the Eudorian Devil: if they were given any adventurous activity with the possibility of violence, they were happy as could be! Simply offering them the chance to guard, battle and go on quests ensured their loyal service.

Once the Eudorian Devils were happy they multiplied manically (as with everything else, they seemed to have insatiable urges)! Everybody wanted one and their popularity grew with each passing day. Danville gave a baby Eudorian Devil to the Police Commissioner who proceeded to make all the smuggling charges ‘disappear’.

So there you go. These days the Posherton breed of Eudorian Devil is far tamer than their ‘Calypso cousins’ and they’ve lost the ability to breathe fire. To mark these differences the Posherton breed was eventually given a new name: “Edgehogs”

But you should still be wary. Their adorable appearance hides a demeanour that is still a little...devilish!

ComPet: Battle

ComPet: Behind The Game

#5 Battle

Here’s a quick overview of battling in ComPet.

Attributes

There are certain attributes that will affect how your pet performs in battle:

Health:

When it reaches zero you lose the match!

Mana and the Mojo Attribute:

All abilities have a required Mana cost. If you run out of Mana you cannot use any abilities until it is regenerated, so it's vital to ensure your Mana pool is replenished! How? By increasing your Mojo: it is the Mojo attribute that determines how much Mana your pet regains every round. Mojo also increases the Pets' chance to avoid stun and other debuffs.

In addition, the amount of Mana a pet has is determined by its Pet Class

Ferocity:

Gives you a better chance to gain initiative (a higher initiative means you have a higher chance to go first in the round). Also, Ferocity increases your chance of scoring a critical hit from a physical attack.

Endurance:

How long your pet can fight with full vigor. Ferocity increases your chance to avoid critical hits from physical attacks. It goes down one point every round. When it's zero your pet is fatigued: he can still fight but will take automatic damage due to exhaustion!

Preparing for Battle

There are various things to consider when equipping your pet with abilities. For instance the “Bite” ability causes instant damage, whilst the “Poison” ability inflicts damage over time and zero instant damage. Also, different abilities have different ‘cooldown periods’: the minimum number of rounds the player must wait after using an ability before using it again.

Battling

At the bottom of the screen is a list of all the abilities you have equipped. You can hover over the ability tooltip to display its mana cost, description and cooldown period: this helps you decide which ability to use. You can see what abilities you have already used and when you used them via the tooltips on the right hand side.

Some attacks affect pets for a number of rounds. These details are displayed on tooltips underneath the pet’s attribute levels.

Types of Battle: Arena, Raid and Beast

Arena Battle:

To begin an Arena Battle against other players you must first have a Battlepack. Battlepacks represent the value that pets bring with them into Arena battles.

You can choose between ‘Premium’ Battlepacks or ‘Basic’ Battlepacks, the difference being that ‘Premium’ Battlepacks represent real monetary value. The winner of the Arena Battle gets part of the value of the loser’s Battlepack!

When you enter the Arena you can only play against those who have the same kind of Battlepack. However, the value of the Battlepacks can differ.

The system automatically pits you against players who are approximately on the same Pet Level (no more than 2 levels up and no less than 2 levels below). The system will also try to match you with someone with a similar number of Ranking Points (if you win a match you gain ranking points and if you lose a match and you lose ranking points).

Raid Battle:

Raid Battles are when you battle another player’s AI pet when they themselves are offline. If you win a raid you can take some of the other player’s gold, but the amount of gold you win depends on how much health you have left after the battle. Lose health in the battle and you’ll win less gold!

You can protect yourself from raids by placing Guard Pets. Guard Pets can be placed at the Residence or at Vaults and Goldmines

Placing a Guard Pet at the Residence means another player must battle this guard when they raid you. If they win they get to raid your gold stores!

Placing Guard Pets at Vaults and Goldmines decreases the amount that can be stolen by another player if they manage to beat the guard you set at the Residence.

Beast Battle:

Beast battles are when you battle the AI in the Forest. This is a great way to gain experience points and gold!

In the forest you also have a chance to defeat and thereby gain rare pets for your collection!

ComPet:The Village

ComPet: Behind The Game

#4 The Village

In this installment we’re going to take a closer look at The Village interface and the functions of the buildings.

The Residence

In order to unlock new buildings and upgrade existing buildings to higher levels you must first upgrade the Residence to the required "Residence Level".

But it takes more than gold to upgrade the Residence! Constructing buildings, training pets and defeating Beasts (AI battles) are all activities required to upgrade this special building.

You can also assign ‘guard duty’ to pets in the Residence. This is the pet that other players battle if they raid your Village (raids occur offline - more on this later!).

Stables

The place where your pets can rest. With each upgrade the maximum number of pets increases.

The stables are also where you can level up your pets, distributing your hard-earned experience points across Mojo, Health, Ferocity and Endurance. Levelling up costs gold and on higher levels it also costs pets.

The UI also shows how long it takes for your pet to fully recover. You can regain your pet’s health immediately by spending diamonds.

Gold Mine

Gold is the currency used for buying buildings, pets and pet abilities. It also buys updates for your buildings.

The gold mine has an hourly income and a maximum capacity. This means you can earn gold merely by waiting for it to be excavated, but it takes time!

You can’t spend gold until you transfer the gold to the vault, at which point it will become visible on your ‘gold meter’ and can be spent. So don’t forget to empty the gold mine before it reaches maximum capacity, else all gold mining activity will stop!

Vault

You can keep your gold in a vault. The higher the level of the vault, the higher the capacity and the more gold you can store!

Gym

You can train your pets in the gym. Simply pay some gold and leave your pet in the gym so they gain experience points! Again, the process can be immediately completed by spending diamonds.

Library

The library is where you research new abilities (the moves you use in battle). It costs gold to research a new ability.

Researchable abilities are organised into different tiers in the library. To unlock these tiers you must upgrade the library to the required tier level.

Veterinarian

The veterinarian reduces the time it takes for a pet to recover from injury by increasing its health regeneration.

ComPet Creature Backstory: Furlock

ComPet: Behind The Game

#3 Creature Backstory: Furlock

The Tale of How The Furlock Came to Be (not a Rudyard Kipling story, I might add) is one of the more unusual stories you’re likely to hear.

The giant bats in the bell towers and the rabbits in the meadows used to live very separate lives, as you might expect.

But one day a young rabbit was climbing up to a bell tower for a dare. Somehow he managed to scramble to the very top, but as he started stomping in jubilation the huge bell chimed and gave him such a fright he fell off!

An observant bat saw him falling and deftly scooped him up in mid-air, soaring above the rooftops.

To the surprise of both animals they found the experience of flying together extremely enjoyable. The other animals followed suit and soon the bats were whizzing around with their rabbit passengers, racing each other and having a whale of a time.

It was during one such race that a rabbit called Fur and a bat called Lock were flying towards the finish line over the forest canopy, miles ahead of their competitors.

Far below in the forest were two witches who were duelling to the death. One of their spells misfired, shooting through the air to hit the unlucky pair!

Instantly both animals were fused into a single strange creature with the fur of a rabbit and the wings of a bat!

Terrified, the new creature flew back to its homes to seek help. But the rabbits were disgusted and the bats appalled: they suspected the creature to be the result of a rather…‘too-intimate union’, shall we say.

Friendship was one thing, but this was too far, by jove! Banishment - immediate and eternal - was brought down upon the poor creature’s head.

Furthermore, the two species decided it was far safer to outlaw all joint sporting events to avoid ‘unnatural urges’...

Abandoned and alone the creature flew aimlessly, until one day it heard of a quack Wizard-Doctor called Lord Mountebank. Reasoning that anything was worth a try it begged the con-man to help split it into its component parts, paying him with gold it had stolen from local residents. Never one to turn down money, Lord Mountebank proceeded to pour a sticky, mucus-like liquid onto the creature’s head.

For a while there was merely an unpleasant, embarrassing sound like that of a giant breaking wind. Then thousands of creatures identical to that of the ‘rabbit-bat’ popped out of thin air and covered every surface for miles around!

Once they had been lonely, but no longer!

The creatures gave Mountebank the honour of naming their species and he dubbed them ‘Furlocks’ (imagination was never Lord Mountebank’s strong point).

To this day the rabbits and bats of Posherton still hate Furlocks and see them as a cautionary tale on the rewards of sin (they became rather prudish after the so-called ‘incident’, it has to be said!).

But the cuddly Furlocks hate nothing and nobody. They’re just glad they’re not alone!

ComPet: Behind The Game - Backstory

ComPet: Behind The Game

#2 Backstory

The action of ComPet takes place in a magical land where pets are not just 'pets'. They have awesome magical powers and incredible physical abilities.

Your uncle - Lord Atherton - lives in this strange place. He’s called you to a meeting but was very vague about the reason. Something about taking a job and the fact he wasn’t getting any younger.

You knock on the door of his study and enter, curious to know more…

LORD ATHERTON:

“Welcome, welcome! Good to see you! How’s my favourite relative eh?

Glad you’re taking over. To be honest I’m getting a bit too old for things, you understand. Time to leave it all to the youngsters!”

[You stare at him, totally surprised]

“You want to know a bit more about the job? Of course!

It was jolly marvellous being a wealthy Lord and a man of leisure. A nice paper in the morning. Fine dining. Brandy and smoking jackets in the evening. A fine leather armchair and dozing by the fire.

The other Lords and I used to go out hunting and fishing together. It was capital!

But after a while it all became rather...dull.

We needed a new challenge, you see. Something to liven things up a bit. Perhaps a little competition...

Naturally, as Lords of considerable estates we had stables full of pets. And then we thought ‘that’s it, by jove! Why not compete with our animals?’ ComPet, we called it.

And then we thought, while we’re at it, why not up the stakes a little? A little wager here and there...

Well, naturally it soon got out of hand. Some of us even started sending our pets to attack our opponents’ estates would you believe! Of course, it wasn’t me who started it...

Or perhaps it was. I forget now...

At any rate, as my estates manager and animal trainer I expect you to train my animals and use them to defend my holdings. And more than that, I expect you to win!

You’ll need perseverance and cunning to succeed. Those Lords are a devious lot!

So there you go.

Good luck with it all! I’m sure you’ll give ‘em a damn good thrashing!

Now, where did I put that Brandy…?”

You walk out of your uncle’s study in a daze. Taking over? Becoming his estates manager and animal trainer? You’re sure he didn’t mention any of this before! What is the crazy old man thinking? Well, you’re unemployed so perhaps this is just what you need, but maybe you should go back in and ask abo—

You suddenly notice that a smiling young woman with a clipboard is standing right in front of you.

OLIVIA:

“So your Lord Atherton’s nephew/niece? Pleased to meet you. I’m Olivia, Lord Atherton’s assistant.

I must say I’m so glad to see you! It’s been a tad hectic around here after Lord Atherton retired. I’ve had to manage everything on my own. But now you’re here!

How did it get to this stage, I suppose you’re wondering?

I suppose it started out as a mere trifle, an amusement amongst the local Lords. A bit like cards or dominos, you might say.

Recently though, the game has gotten rather...dangerous.

I hope you’ll forgive me for saying so, but Lord Atherton was always the ringleader in the group! He egged them on, no doubt about it. ‘Higher stakes, more fun’ was his motto! Before anyone knew what was happening whole estates were being destroyed in ComPet!

And here we are. Mustn’t complain though! This is a grand estate: the Athertons have been here for generations. Did you know your great grandfather once invented The Flying Gurglestroople? What a brilliant mind!

Anyway, now we’ve gotten acquainted let’s get down to business…”

It seems you’re on this adventure, whether you like it or not!

After a moment of thought, you decide you like it.

ComPet: Behind The Game Overview

MindArk new game ComPet is just 50 days away from its final release and we have more information what will it look like. It will be a turn-based game where you collect and train pets and they fight with other people’s pets. You select a few abilities for your pet to attack in the battle and then use them during the fight. Your pet will have 4 stats: mojo, health, endurance and ferocity. As your pet ‘levels up’ you gain points which can then be distributed amongst these four elements.

At first ComPet the game looks like most mobile games where you buy premium currency (diamonds) to speed up your game or you play free but slowly. The main difference from all other games will be that here you can choose to battle other players and eventually win some PEDs and then withdraw them as real money. Effectively getting real money for your wins. They way I think it will be implemented is arenas like Planet Cyrene. You pay 1 ped to enter 1 ped arena and if you win you win 1,50 peds. And 0,5 peds are for the game developers or something like this.

On this screenshot we can see that you can buy 3 different currencies with your real money. You can buy gold, probably you can win it in the game, but slowly. You can buy diamonds. May be there will be pets or skills that can only be bought with diamonds. You will probably be able to buy defense for your village for diamonds, so other players can not attack you while you are on vacation. Or you will be able to resurrect dead pet with diamonds (if they die in this game). And the third option is to buy PEDs. Peds will probably be used to battle PVP for real money.

The base place will be your village. Here you can research new combat skills, train them, assign guard duty, send them on quests or use them to battle against the AI or other players. Each building in the village has a specific function: for instance, the Gold Mine allows you to mine gold and the Vault allows you to store it. Buildings can be upgraded to allow players bonuses and further possibilities for progression. Sound like most similar games, but I like building towns so I am happy.

Your fighters will be the pets you acquire. It is still not 100% confirmed if you can use your pets from Entropia Universe or this will be completely different pets. We will have to wait 50 days or at least the beta that is supposed to start this month. There are 4 different classes of pets: Aggressive, Defensive, Attuned and Balanced. Each class has a different combination of statistics that influences their combat style. The more you battle with your pets and put them on quests, the more they can ‘level up’ and progress in skill.

I guess when you hit the fight other player button the game will search for someone else with close to your level and battle will start. Then you will have some energy and each turn you will have to choose different action for your pet. You can choose few kinds of attacks or defenses or to skip a turn probably accumulating more energy for the next. Is it going to be fun and how much skill and how much luck will be involved is still unknown.

Aside from PVP battles there will be quest system. Quest will have different durations and different rewards in form of experience points, gold, diamonds may be pets and peds too. Probably the more pets you have the more quests you will be able to do at the same time.

And there will be single-player 'campaign' mode where you battle against the AI called Beasts. It is possible there will be DLC with more campaigns may be for some diamonds or peds.

In the next month or two there will be more information about the game hopefully answering the question if we will be able to use our Entropia Universe pets. So far I am interested and will play the game when it is released.

Compet Bulletin #7

In the previous ComPet bulletin we talked about player versus player pet battles. While the PVP pet battles are a central feature of ComPet, there are also many other cool features! In this ComPet bulletin we will take a look at the City Management feature.

Concept of the stables, which allow you to view and manage your pets.

City Management

Every ComPet player will have their own city to manage, where various useful structures can be built. The structures will for example offer the ability to recruit new pets, train existing pets, generate resources, and gain access to various other features and content.

The city itself and the buildings within can be upgraded in order to access new functions and pet bonuses. The city is also the main user interface from which most of your activities in ComPet originate.

ComPet will offer an exciting raid feature, where players can attack the cities of other ComPet players and pet battle them for their resources. Of course, this means defending your own city from attacks will be an important part of a successful strategy in ComPet!

Olivia, the ComPet app guide.

We are also very happy to introduce Olivia, the ComPet in-game assistant!

When ComPet is launched, Olivia will guide you through the game, providing you with information and advice when you need it.

ComPet Bulletin 6

We are currently testing the stability of the battle system. Here's a screenshot of the prototype in action!

Please note that this is a prototype built for game design and testing purposes only. It does not represent what the final product will look like. Any and all graphics shown are subject to change.

The picture shows a pet battle in full swing.

The two players take turns choosing what ability their pet will use next. The key to success in battle is to manage your pet’s health, mana, stamina, abilities and cooldowns in order to overcome your opponent. Just before the battle begins, you choose your ability set and apply buffs to your pet in order to maximize the effectiveness of your strategy and play style.

In the final product your pet will battle in vibrant environments, and have a vast amount of different abilities to choose from, which will cater to all play styles and strategies.

The pet battle is just one of many aspects of ComPet. Stay tuned for more updates and info as ComPet develops!

3 new pets on Planet Calypso

I was just preparing myself to go to planet Cyrene to train my Arret pet when planet Calypso introduced 3 new pets that look very cool, so I had to fly there, buy them and train them at least to level 7, so I can use them on every planet. Eudorian Devil is probably my new favorite pet. But lets see how he behaves first.

Eudorian Devil

Chirin Dragon

Corinthian Kanin

And can you believe it there are also rare version of the pets. For Example Rare Sapphire Chirin Dragon:
