My Future Plans 2017 Edition

Just shooting and mining in Entropia Universe is fun, but what I find unique is the unlimited opportunities and choices you have. So why limit yourself just as hunter or miner. And what you can’t find in another game is that you can choose and develop your own small business inside this universe. Even if you don’t make much profit you will learn a lot about real life business. Like with demo Forex account you can learn trading here you can learn how to run small business. One way to describe Entropia Universe is “Business Simulator” with little shooting and mining from time to time.

So my long term goals are to run different businesses inside Entropia Universe. I am waiting for MindArk to release more Land Plots so I can buy 2 by the end of 2017. Also I am hoping for at least 1 more choice beside the garden, so I can make 1 garden and 1 factory or something. MA said there will be also possibility to make the big land plots like a shop, but I guess it will be better to just buy a shop.

And indeed after I manage to get my hands on 2 big land plots I will buy 2-3 shops. So far I have ideas for 3-4 shops, but this time I won’t make it like my last shops where I was selling everything I have. I will make them specialized shops with only 1 type of items in every shop. The focus will not be on the profit, but to make shops look good and make people come regularly and buy stuff. If you see my previous years future plans you will see that I was planning to have shops by now, but MA introduced Land Plots and now I am saving for 2. If I buy shops now I won’t have enough resources to get 2 big Land Plots.

The next big step for me will be getting my hands on land area on some planet. LAs are very expensive and I will probably have to wait few years to achieve that goal but it will happen someday.

In addition to all this I am thinking of some kind of business like real estate trading. It is not the same as real life because you don’t actually need to sleep in Entropia Universe and it is harder to make people to buy a home or a shop, but other than that real life principles of supply and demand apply. I am also considering a place where people will pay just to hangout and running some kind of investment fund like Toni Chiee Lahderinne , Divinity Deth Undefined and Sir Matt Copping , but this will be too much work so I prefer to do all business with just my money for now.

And as always there are plans for better YouTube channel but here the only resource that is limiting me is the free time. It seems you can buy the latest NVIDIA graphic card but you can’t buy free time. So this plan is postponed for another 2 to 4 years.

My short term plans are simple. I will go to Planet Arkadia to upgrade my Viceroy Armor. Also I will do some mining and try the new instances if they are not bugged. It seems Planet Arkadia is doing very well from all planet partners, but I am not a big fan of the military theme they are going for.

What is getting my attention is Planet Cyrene with the different factions, world events, inverted pyramids, skylab and probably the best models in the game. I was angry at them for not launching for 6 years. It takes 4-5 years to make a game, but here you have the code, you are just making the models and design some missions, you are not making the game engine. But after a year of meditation I decided to forgive them and go play on Cyrene even if they are not showing signs to be alive. In the end the more people play there the faster the planet will grow and this is what I want. Just for now I am not going to invest in estates there until the promised hard launch at least. I will just play for the fun.

AxeMurderer Import – Taking over the galaxy

I have a grand plan to take over the galaxy in the next 2-3 years. Now I have just one shop on Calypso, but my plan is to get one shop for every planet in Entropia Universe and make every shop sell goods from just one planet. Now I have one shop where I sell goods from Calypso. My next step will be to buy shop and stock it with items only from planet Arkadia - since it looks like the second biggest economy after planet Calypso. My third shop will probably sell only gear from planet Rocktropia, I know there are some crafters. Next in line will be planet Cyrene shop, and then planet Toulan shop. And when new planet is introduced I will buy another shop and fill it with goods from that planet.

To fill the shops with good crafted items I will try to work with 2 crafters from every planet. At the beginning I won’t be able to give any collateral to the crafters for their items, so they will have to just give me the items and get their PEDs when the item is sold and I will keep 1-2 PEDs from the profit. They will give me the items when I visit their home planet or when they visit Calypso.

So if you are crafting non-Calypsian goods and like my terms message me to work together. It will be more work than just selling your crafted goods on the auction, but it will be more fun and hopefully more profitable. I think that working with only 2 crafters from every planet is good idea. More and I will be doing too much work and there is chance that different crafters will craft same items. Just 1 and if he is not active enough shop will be empty.

This is my idea for now; it will be improved with time. If I can buy new shop every 6 months and then slowly fill it with items the next 3 months I think 3 years will be enough to achieve my goal.

I think I forgot to mention it on my blog, but I bought a shop again. If you read the post Return of the Virtual Trader I made a year ago you will see my plan was to get enough CLD and then buy a shop. Well I think I have enough CLD now and I bought a shop. I had 2 shops in Emerald Lake Mall and sold them when CLD were introduced. I used the money to buy CLD until they were cheap and now traded few of them for a shop in New Oxford Mall.

Owning shop in Entropia Universe won’t make you rich, but it transforms your useless loot to something you are happy to place in your shop. Next time you loot that oil or hide with 101% MU you know you have purpose for it. It sure is expensive toy, but then again people in Star Citizen paid 15 000 USD for few ships in non RCE game, paying 1 000 USD for a shop in RCE universe sound like a deal.

If you ever get bored from the game, buy a shop. It brings another level of fun and transforms the game for you. Buy it only if you can afford it, not as an investment. If you are looking for profit, buy CLD. The negative side of owning a shop is that from time to time you have to go back to that planet. You can’t have a shop on Rocktropia and play on Arkadia. And this again is 2 sided coin. You can look at it as you are forced to fly back to the planet where your shop is and spent 5-10 PED flying or you can look at it as something to give reason to fly into space.

My shop is not yet complete so you get no pictures for now. But stay tuned for more info. And I’m also thinking of buying another shop, may be after a year.

I have few things on my mind and I’m not sure how to start. In this post and may be few more I will talk about my future plans in Entropia Universe, Calypso Land Deeds and the risk of buying them, Shops, Trading and reselling in Twin Peaks and may be some other stuff.

Some of you may know that I had 2 shops on Planet Calypso in Emerald Lake Mall with more than 500 item points. I was selling a lot of items from Calypso and Rocktropia. I was selling my items and items for other people with small profit for me. Then in November 2011 MindArk announced that they will start selling deeds from Planet Calypso with 27% to 30% ROI and I realized that this is better investment than a shop. With shop you must work a lot for smaller profit. So I sold my shops even with big loss in the price to buy as much CLD (Calypso Land Deeds) as I can. The problem is that soon I started missing my shops. Once you owned a shop then just hunting, mining and crafting is just not enough for you. Entropia Universe is RCE (Real Cash Economy) game and thinking how to make money and making them is half (or even more) the fun. You can’t just go with your big wallet and hunt all day and have fun all the time. And with a shop you can sell most of the loot with low MU for 1-2 PED profit instead of selling it all to the trade terminal and feel bad that your loot doesn’t have MU.

So I started making a plan for the next few years. First I needed to get enough CLD so I can reinvest the income from them in shops and enough items and resources to be able to trade without depositing every week and still be able to hunt and mine when I want. I think I will get to that point with my next deposit. But all that money into CLD is risky. If something bad happens to the game CLD have 0 TT value and I won’t be able to withdraw any money. So my next move is going to be buying a shop and then buying with the revenue from the CLDs items and resources equivalent to the price I paid for all my CLDs. In case game goes dead I will withdraw the money I deposited and move on. I don’t believe this will happen, but better safe than sorry. This will also give me shitload of items and resources to trade with and play big.

Speaking of playing big, recently I read the Trading log of Igor Babaroga1x. His goal is to make 60 000 PEDs with just 500 PED as starting investment. Later this year I will have a lot more free PEDs in my PEDcard and I will probably by my avatar cool looking clothes and start buying resources for my shops in Twin Peaks. I want to have one big shop just for ores and energy and then one shop for guns and armors and then another for mindforce. The problem here is that there are two words for people buying and selling in Entropia Universe. The first is TRADER – if they call you trader they like you and respect you. The other word for doing the same is RESELLER – if they call you reseller they hate you and wish your computer to die from nasty computer virus. So if I invest only will CLDs I will make more profit and everybody will like me and if I start trading in Twin Peaks I will make less profit, work hours daily buying resources and risk to be hated. Anyway I will probably give it a try and start trading log. Now there are tons of hunting and mining logs and just one for trading.

Something else that may slow my plans is the big sale from MindArk in the end of January 2013. If it is something really good and I can afford it I will put my PEDs there instead of more CLDs, shop and items.
