Building The Future: The next stage of Plot Ownership

We have now reached the next exciting stage of the Estate System. Plot holders on Planet Calypso will have the possibility to become Virtual Land Developers and build their own centres of production and supply.

Building Your Property

The UI will let you choose, preview and place your constructions on a grid. At this point you’ll be able to review all building costs. Once you’re totally happy you can proceed with the transaction, at which point you’ll be shown the construction time.

Constructions are upgradeable, allowing you to modernize and improve your builds. For example, outlying walls may boast elegant arches, gates and pillars!

In this release only one type of house is available, but this is merely the beginning. We are continuously working on more developments!


Build Components

Each building comes with a certain number of construction points that you can allocate to construct different kinds of components. There are ‘building’, ‘gardening’, ‘utility’ and ‘industry’ points. The number of construction points varies depending on the size and cost of the building.

The UI will let you place constructions within the grid. During placement, you can rotate it like when placing any item. When satisfied, the building will begin its first step towards completion. Once you’re finished you’ll be able to admire and enjoy your new property!

Vegetable Gardens: Grow Your Business!

A later release will feature the possibility of making a Vegetable Garden after building your house. This will enable you to become a producer of valuable organic goods and a key player in the supply chain. You’ll literally be able to ‘grow’ an expanding business!

Building and Rebuilding

What if you don’t like the way you’ve built your house, or you want to build another kind of building instead? You can start again by demolishing the building and regaining roughly 50% of your initial investment, which can then be used on your next build!

Village Development

As a Property Owner you are also a citizen of a village and the development of ‘village life’ will be the focus of future releases. Being a responsible village citizen will have a positive effect on the village community as a whole. This ‘communal’ dimension will be a new aspect of gameplay within Planet Calypso.

Known Issues

An error can occur when trying to upgrade items with enhancers attached through the Imperial Guardians’ service. This error can lock you out of the particular upgrade, so please make sure that you remove all attachments before handing in an item. We apologize for any inconvenience this causes.

RDI Xenobiologists have officially confirmed that ‘red’ level readings of Eomon Pheromone have been detected, suggesting that Eomon Migration will begin in 3-4 days!

The Eomon Migration is the high point of the Summer and a chance for colonists to hunt great herds of Eomon and Longtooth as they travel their ancestral migration paths.

The payment model is interesting. You will get 1% of every global the recruited players gets for all time. A global is when you get big loot mining, hunting or crafting. It was fixed to be for loot over 50 PED (5 USD), now for some creatures it can be as low as 10 PED (1 USD). So if your recruit receive loot of 100 PED you will get 1 PED or 0,10 USD. For small player you will get probably 1 USD per year, but there are loots of 20 000 USD, if your recruit hit one of those you will get 200 USD for just one creature he killed or deposit he mined or weapon he crafted. And you will get 1% of every global until that player is playing the game. You can get your money in the game in form of PEDS or via PayPal. What I don’t like is that external website for tracking globals called EntropiaLife will be used. This means that it is possible your recruit to hit global on less populated planet or in space, and if it doesn’t register with this external website, you will get nothing. You will see the full names of the players you recruit. They appear in the "Recruited players" list, so that you may befriend them, mentor them and follow them up as tightly as you wish. This is a key concept of EntropiaFriends.

Akoz confirmed that the reward of 1% will come from EntropiaFriends and will not result in decreased loot return or decreased CLD payouts.

ComPet: Development Update

ComPet: Development Update

The ComPet Closed Beta period began on May 17, 2016 and has provided the ComPet development team with a wealth of valuable testing data and user feedback. This has resulted in significant improvements to the overall stability, balance and enjoyability of the ComPet experience. We are grateful to all the Closed Beta participants who have assisted our team in this effort.

ComPet is scheduled to transition to Extended Open Beta phase within a matter of weeks, with an eye toward further design and balance refinements, scalability testing and polishing in preparation for full release. This phase will:

-Be open to the general public.

-Enable players to retrieve their progress (i.e., the system will no longer be wiped).

-Allow transactions in the ComPet Shop.

Finally, a quick note about ComPet development. The product development and marketing budgets for ComPet were fully financed via ComPet deeds. Nearly all of the coding of the ComPet infrastructure and client was outsourced, meaning that MindArk’s developers have continued to focus on improving Entropia Universe. In fact, the Entropia Universe and Calypso teams have grown since the ComPet project began.

A selection of pets can be acquired from the ComPet Shop in exchange for Gold. It’s also possible to acquire multiple pets of the same animal.

But how do you choose a pet?

Pets belong to different classes: Aggressive, Defensive, Attuned and Balanced.


Most importantly, the class determines how a pet levels up.

When a pet levels up you distribute experience points to increase your pet’s attribute levels of Health, Mojo, Ferocity and Endurance (see #5 Battle Post for more on attributes).

Depending on what class your pet belongs to, each experience point increases your pet’s attribute levels by varying amounts. For instance, 1 experience point will increase a Defensive pet’s Health by 3 and an Aggressive pet’s Health by 2. This effectively means that different classes of pet have different ‘strengths’ and ‘weaknesses’.

Below is starting attribute level and the ‘increase per experience point’ for each pet in the ComPet Shop (‘increase per experience point’ is shown in brackets).

Hey everyone,

I wanted to let our community know that today, June 14th 2016, Planet Cyrene will not have an update for this VU cycle.

Cyrene will continue to work towards Hard Launch and we are currently working with MindArk about how we can achieve what is needed for Hard Launch.


Current team now working towards hard launch.

Many issues are being focused on, including the economy and PVP/Mech system so that we have a smooth transition for all new players that our marketing efforts will be focusing on to help promote the Cyrene economy further.

We will be also focusing on the following for the next release: shops, booths, bug fixes, land area, and addressing the vendor items issue.


I do not have any more details to share at this time, but I will update this post when I can share more.

IFN & Herman Industries presents the all new A.N.U.B.I.S system available to everyone in the IFN with rank Sergeant or higher (higher level upgrades unlock at higher ranks). With this system you will be able to gain access and upgrade over 40 different versions of existing specialized Herman weapons, some examples of what is available:

Additions
CDF reports Trooper units patrolling southwest of Fort Medusa, as well as Legionnaire units northwest of Fort Pandora. Vanguard units have disappeared from several locations.
The Citizen Plots near Fort Ithaca have received environmental updates. More developments will be arriving soon.
Added Caudatergus Iron Challenge mission chain (10 stages)
Added Gold Challenge missions for Argonaut and Atrox.
Added a new Silver Challenge Achievement: Silver Bullet.

Changes
The APCs at Atlas Haven have been removed.
The “Trophy Hunt” and “Once More Into The Wild” missions no longer loot physical trophies. Instead, temporary mission objects are given that are turned in to the NPC.
The Big Game Hunt now awards “Bukin’s Spare Rifle” in place of “Bukin’s Blade”, avatars who have already completed the quest can visit the mission NPC and receive the new reward.
The NPC Imperial Guardian Valerius now wears the same armor as other Imperial Guardians.
The “Washed Up” mission has been disabled; those who have already started the mission may still complete it.
The “Cherry Picking” mission now hides objectives that the avatar has already visited.
A waypoint has been added for the "George the vaccine guy" mission.
The Berycled texture and animations have received an update.
Fort Medusa defenses have been downgraded to level 2 due to weaker robot opposition in the region.

Fixes
Improved NPC responsiveness at Camp Icarus and Half Moon Bay.
Various collision issues have been corrected in Mobile Service Centers.
Oculus in the NW Corinth cave no longer spawn inside walls.
The “Teleporter Information” mission now gives the "'Porter" achievement upon completion.
The “Tax Free” achievement is now given by the Port Atlantis and Cape Corinth Officials.
Fixed an issue causing avatars to spawn on the dropship when exiting the newbie beacon instance.
Improvements to dialogue and text for several Iron Challenge missions.

Known Issues

Several new upgrade missions are referenced by Liaison Atwell: Modified Vigilante, Adjusted Boar, Adjusted Katsuichi Determination and Adjusted Marber Bravo-Type Annihilator, but are not yet functional. These upgrade missions will be activated after the patch scheduled for June 21, however many of the items required for the new upgrade missions can already be collected from defeating robot forces, as in previous upgrade missions.
Outback Land Areas on Amethera are displaying incorrect names in the map interface. This issue will be fixed in the upcoming patch scheduled for early next week.

New sound effects have been implemented when dealing or receiving a critical hit.

Note:
Icons are now regenerated after each update. One side effect of this change is that it may require a few moments for icons to display correctly in the inventory after a client update.
